The Customer
The customer was a fashion retailer with 200 employees, operating across North America with both eCommerce and brick-and-mortar stores.
The Challenge
- Multiple campaign tools, inconsistent messaging across channels
- Slow turnaround for launching new campaigns or tweaking workflows
- Data silos: customer behavior data, purchase history, and engagement metrics were spread between tools
- Risk of data loss, campaign downtime and broken workflows during migration
The Solution
We handled a full migration strategy with minimal disruption, detailed in these steps:
Audit & Mapping
- Took stock of 250+ existing campaigns and flows in Klaviyo
- Identified redundant or overlapping automations
- Used mapping tools and expert review to plan equivalent (or improved) flows in Braze
Re-architecting with Scale & Clean Logic
- Rather than copying old flows verbatim, we redesigned them using Braze’s event-triggered architecture (delays, conditional paths, channel switching)
- Established naming conventions, clean data event definitions, and folder structures so future builds would be faster
Shadow Testing & QA
- Ran “shadow campaigns” in Braze in parallel with Klaviyo flows to compare behavior, timing, and deliverability (without sending to customers)
- Verified data integrity, deliverability, and logic paths before final switch
Go-Live & Post-Migration Optimization
- Switched over flows stage by stage to avoid downtime or loss of deliverability
- Monitored performance closely for first 30 days
- Applied minor tweaks: send-time optimizations, channel reallocations, subject-line improvements
The Results
The migration didn’t just move campaigns from one tool to another—it set the foundation for faster, smarter engagement. Within the first 60 days on Braze, the retail brand saw:
- 20% faster campaign launches: average build time dropped from 10 days to 8 days
- 18% lift in engagement rates: (opens + clicks) across email and push notifications
- 25% drop in cart abandonment: thanks to AI-powered, real-time trigger flows
- Zero downtime during migration: customers never noticed the switch
- 40% reduction in manual campaign errors due to clean logic and standardized workflows
